Europe’s largest sports festival for young people is held in the Duisburg-Nord landscape park. From 20 to 23 June 2019, the third Ruhr Games will offer a programme of sports competitions, shows, music acts, street art, trend sports and a gathering of young people from many different countries.
The landscape park site, which has an area of around 180 hectares, offers many opportunities for sports activities all year round, against a special industrial backdrop. In an old gasometer, you’ll find Europe’s largest artificial diving sports centre, while former ore storage bunkers have been converted into a climbing garden, and a high-wire course has been set up in a foundry hall. A disused furnace serves as a viewing tower, day and night.
