New in Cologne: tours through the European Astronaut Centre.

This is where the European Astronaut Corps trains for space missions on the International Space Station, the ISS.

Autor: Julia Bauer

From now on, KölnTourismus is offering exclusive tours to the European Astronaut Centre (EAC). Visitor groups will be given an insight into current manned space travel. The guided tours, which last around two hours, and which are offered in German and English, include a presentation in the cinema room and a visit to the training hall, the core of the European Astronaut Centre, which is located on the site of the DLR, the German Aerospace Centre, in the Wahnheide district of Cologne. After the tour, there is time for questions about all aspects of the work in the training centre and space travel in general. The EAC is the training venue for the European Astronaut Corps, among others, which mostly trains for space missions on the International Space Station, the ISS.

The new offer has been made possible thanks to a new collaboration between KölnTourismus GmbH as the exclusive marketing and sales partner and Sapce Time Concepts GmbH as the organiser of the tours. The new guided tours are designed to enhance Cologne’s status as a science location.
