Winterberg has a new attraction: in the district of Altastenberg, one of the longest mega-ziplines in Europe is now open to the public. On two parallel steel ropes, each about 1,000 metres long, two people can slide down into the valley at the same time. During the descent, they reach speeds of up to 70 kilometres per hour. The new double-rope slide, called “Astenkick”, takes you over a skiing area and is open all year round.
The attraction, which was opened at the start of August, expands the offers available in the holiday resort of Winterberg during the summer. An additional mega-zipline is currently being planned. These new offers, together with the climbing forest, panorama experience bridge, adventure playground and bike park, are among the activities offered by the Winterberg ski lift carousel, which can be used all year round, including when there is no snow on the ground.
