In 2018, Schloss Burg castle will welcome visitors to the Harry Potter event for the first time

Meet and greet fantasy film stars

The 12th century Solinger castle is increasingly becoming an international meeting point for fantasy film stars. As well as the “Medieval Fantasy Convention” (MFC), which will take place for the second time on 26 and 27 August 2017, one of the major Harry Potter events will be held for the first time in the spring of the following year. On 5 and 6 May 2018, the entire castle grounds will be turned into the young magician’s fantasy world. According to Schloss Burg castle and the company organising the event, well-known actors from the film will also be there.

Various stars from the Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings films have already said that they will attend the next MFC in August. They include Josh Herdmann (Gregory Goyle in “Harry Potter”), Aimee Richardson (Myrcella Baratheon in “Game of Thrones”) and David Wenham (Faramir from “Lord of the Rings”). The knights from the Bergisches Land region have also set up camp, and cross swords in mock fights, while jesters and traders offer entertainment at the Medieval market.

A package tour offers fantasy film fans the chance to get right up close to the stars. As well as an overnight stay in a four-star superior hotel including breakfast, a 3 course menu and MFC day pass, the package also includes a 30-minute meet and greet session with an actor of their choice. The package can be booked from the Bergisches Land Tourismus Marketing e.V. for 329 euros.
