Where can you find inspiring locations, trendy cafés and designer shops, or all kinds of art festivals? Three new English-language city magazines offer tips for trendy locations and events in Düsseldorf, Cologne and cities in the Ruhr area. Creative minds and local patriots present their favourite spots – on paper and online. Recommendations range from fashion to urban art, design to music.
The magazines, “The Dorf – The Mag”, “Kontermag” and “hidden Cologne” and their online versions, were created as part of the #urbanana project, and are the first city magazines in NRW to be produced in English. The aim of the joint project involving Tourismus NRW, Köln Tourismus, Düsseldorf Tourismus and Ruhr Tourismus, is to further develop urban tourism in NRW and to raise the profile of the metropolitan area and its urban hotspots – which looks like a banana on the map – among international travellers.
