From the Atari console to Xbox One: the new Binarium in Dortmund tells the story of video games consoles from the late 1970s through to the present day. Visitors can try out many of the over 250 exhibits, including a converted kart for video game races or a flight simulator, alongside various different consoles.
The museum, which is housed in a former colliery building, will be given more exhibition space during the second quarter of 2017. The area now open on the ground floor will be expanded over the coming year by an additional floor for home computers, creating an exhibition space of 2,000 square meters overall. The museum was founded by a private collector.
