There’s a new challenge waiting for climbing fans in Dortmund. In the Augmented Climbing Hall, which was recently opened, climbing walls turn into interactive play areas thanks to new technology. Different games are projected onto the wall using a beamer, and the results are analysed via a touchscreen and deep scanner. For example, climbers can throw each other a ball, race to touch the largest number of moving points, or dodge a line. The new technology was created in Finland and according to the operator of the climbing wall in Dortmund is now available in Germany for the first time.
